Earn a Reformed Micro-Credential!

Through Transform@PRTS, Learning Centre Ontario is pleased to offer the following non-credit certificates:

  • Historical Studies Certificate

  • Office-Bearer Certificate (Part 1 and Part 2)

  • Ministry Engagement Certificate

Historical Studies Certificate

This certificate builds an awareness of over two thousand years of church history. It encourages deeper appreciation for God's providences through events, as well as God's gifts to the church today through various people and their writings. The certificate is granted upon completion of the five courses below (taken on-site or online) and interaction with local mentors.

Reformation Church History

A survey of church history from the time of the apostles through the creeds and councils.

A survey of the medieval church from 600-1400s highlighting movements away from, and returning to, the biblical truths.

A survey of the Reformation focusing on people God used, and their influential writings.

Puritan Theology

A survey of European and American Puritans that uncovers their true motives and lasting contributions.

Modern Church History

A survey of the last 500 years of church history and the ongoing issues of living faithfully in the present world. 

Office-Bearer Certificates

This certificate is designed to increase understanding and skill in those aspiring to, or those in, offices within the church. There are two certificates. The first certificate is granted to men who complete the six courses below and interact with local mentors. The second follows on the completion of the first, and is granted to those who work through six particular challenges facing office-bearers.

This course is a study of the theology of church, including the nature of the sacraments.

Biblical Counseling I

This course introduces all people to the principles of biblical counselling, and begins to develop skill in application.

This course develops principles of biblical ethics, and their application to contemporary issues.

This course introduces the Three Forms of Unity and/or the Westminster Standards and their value for today.

Church Planting

This course discusses the necessity and nature of church planting. It also discusses the  blessings and challenges of being a church planter.

Ministry Engagement Certificate

This certificate builds an awareness of ministry issues and opportunities in the local church beyond pastoral ministry. In this way, it seeks to increase the skills and understanding of all church members. The certificate is granted upon completion of the six courses below (taken on-site or online) and interaction with local mentors.
